Canadian Rockies

On a bit of a whim, we decided to drive up to Banff and check out the Canadian Rockies as the last big adventure on this 6 week road trip. I was constantly reminded of two words my nephew Dylan says on repeat (or at least he did 6 weeks ago!)....”Whoa” and “moey”. Translation: “holy crap, that’s cool” and “give me more of that”. Those two words kept repeating in my head while we were here in Canada....the Rockies up there are amazing!

We spent a few days in Banff and Lake Louise area hiking, eating burgers and drinking their beer, filling up a few more times before next week when we’ll get to show off our white skin and beer / burger bellies to the Hawaiians. (also on a bit of a whim, we bumped up the Maui trip a week as well...more sun time!)

Tons of pics and vids here to check out – will let them speak for themselves. Sounding like a broken record, but we are coming back here for sure...and next time to hit the slopes!

The Wild West

It’s been a while since the last blog, but we’ve been busy exploring the wild west and mixing in a bit more FLyBOOK business. We spent a week in Jackson Wyoming where we experienced beautiful fall days as well as the dead of winter (and we had just come from 100 degree weather in Moab). We’re testing the bigfoot for all kinds – it’s still workin like a charm! Now it’s back up to about 65 and we are just leaving after a week in West Yellowstone and Bozeman, Mt.

Definite highlight was staying at the Gallatin River Lodge – which is a beautiful lodge along the Gallatin River. (with real bed, shower and awesome steak dinner – big deal for the two people who have been in the camper for last 5 weeks!) Some pics are up there – it’s amazing. We were trying to sell them on the flybook, stayed for dinner, then they couldn’t get rid of us, we stayed in the lodge that night!

To explain a couple of those pictures….we took the raft down the Green River, Snake River through Teton National Park, the Jefferson River in Montana and also the Yellowstone river outside of Bozeman just down by the park entrance. We also hiked in the bear trap canyon (and camped along in there too) - we have fished a bunch and caught a bunch! There’s also a pic in there just after I fell in the river and Benny Boy making fun of me (got all excited about a fish on the line and fell back and filled the waders!) The other couple questionable photos are sitting in the saddles at the Cowboy Bar in Jackson…craig “giving lessons” on how to ride a horse….Erica, really needed ya there!

We are now off to the Canadian Rockies for Banff, Lake Louisse and Jasper. Hoping for a couple more days of good weather so we can check it out! Hope everyone is doing great – will see many of you at the beav game Nov 1st ! Just a couple more weeks of roady!
